Staff Accountant

BASIC PURPOSE: The primary purpose of the Treasury Staff Accountant position is to provide support and assist the Sr. Manager of Treasury and other treasury staff in the daily and routine operations of the treasury department along with special projects as assigned.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cross train on cash positioning, store reconciliation, and coin reconciliation desks
• Work directly with senior management and take ownership of special projects as needed
• Assume responsibility for accounting for treasury department including cash and month end interest accruals
• Assume responsibility for analyzing, tracking, and presenting monthly bank fee analysis reports
• Inputting and releasing of electronic payment files from SAP and Gtreasury
• Enhance efficiencies through independent analysis of treasury control procedures
• Identify and assess potential opportunities for improvement
• Interact with other departments and operations
• Other duties assigned as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Experience:
  • [1-2] years relevant work experience
  • Accounting or Finance experience a plus

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Skills:
  • Hard Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong emphasis on Excel and SAP experience a plus
  • Soft Skills: Strong oral and verbal communication skills; ability to perform and make decisions under pressure and strict deadlines; excellent time management skills; detail oriented; ability to multitask and be a team player
• Typical Physical Demands:
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
