POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, this role will be responsible for the monthly close process including, inputting and running reports out of Maconomy and Cartesis, preparing and analyzing financial reconciliations and variance analysis, assisting in internal and external audits and SOX reporting requirements.Â
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide accounting analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
- Interact with internal client finance teams on monthly expense close, budget variances, work quality and deadlines.
- Provide analysis and support in reconciling problem items.
- Perform reconciliations including bank accounts, balance sheet accounts and operating expense analyses.
- Propose, load and post journal entries.
- Work with the fixed asset ledger module.
- Assist with on-going SOX requirements.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis when needed, often working with the Finance Staff of internal clients we service or the Financeplus Accounting Manager.
- Assist with Maconomy and Cartesis reporting requirements.
- Participate in the Company’s Performance Management Process, including self-evaluation; establishing goals and offering 360 feedback upon request.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a professional service company.
- Must have the self-determination to work autonomously and be an effective problem solver.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and international financial reporting standards to assist with internal reporting/monthly accounting cycle
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and changing work environment and work in cross-functional teams
- Excellent professional judgment, tact, and decision-making ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Manage multiple assignments within strict deadlines while maintaining a calm and composed demeanor
- An understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley

In New York City, the base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $45,000 to $90,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.Â
