Staff Accountant

The staff accountant will be reporting to the accounting supervisor and will work directly with senior and peer members of the accounting team in Charlotte, US and Latin America countries. Staff accountant will be responsible for full cycle accounting, process improvements and efficiencies. This position requires a hands-on individual with a desire to learn and who works well in a team environment.

3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Obtains and maintains a deep understanding of the regional office activity.
• Prepare and record asset, liability, and expenses journal entries by analysing account information.
• Review expense accounts to ensure transaction are posted to the correct account.
• Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Record intercompany transactions and coordinating with business units to send timely intercompany invoices.
• In charge of Concur expense system, training new employees, auditing expenses, and providing technical support to users.
• Review and record incoming wires and checks.
• Assist with bank reconciliation.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed.
• Support Accounts Payable processing when needed.

The incumbent is required to work with various business units in different countries. This job requires the individual to be highly motivated and work well under pressure and tight timeline.

5. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• 3-5 years of general accounting, accounts payable or other accounting related field is a must.
• Prior Oracle financials experience is a plus but not required. ERP system experience is a must.
• International accounting experience is preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong ability to work with colleagues with different languages, backgrounds, and personalities.
• Excellent time management, organizational and planning skills, with attention to detail.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Requires excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
