Staff Accountant
SchoolMint is seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. The Staff Accountant will work on a team with diverse backgrounds, operating in a fast-paced, and team-oriented environment. The position will report to the Accounting Manager, support the overall operations of the accounting department and play a vital role in the month-end close process. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated, procedure and detail-oriented, hands-on individual with the ability to work independently and with a team.
Responsibilities:Β
- Ensure financial data integrity by reconciling data between multiple data sources
- Review transactions to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and to the proper cost centers; analyze and research variances
- Prepare journal entries
- Maintain and update balance sheet reconciliation and supporting schedules such as bank, fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, insurance benefits, etc
- Reconcile and file sales taxes
- Assist with month-end and year-end close
- Assist with the interim and annual audits
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 2+ years of Accounting/Finance experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting/Business/Finance required
- Solid grasp of US GAAP
- Good Excel skills and experience with Google Sheets a plus
- Strong analytical and communication (oral and written) skills
- Strong organizational skills, attentive to detail, and ability to multi-task
- Quick learner
- Plus: SaaS experience
- Plus: ASC606 and ASC842
- Plus: Experience in Sage Intacct
- Plus: Experience with Salesforce
- Plus: Experience with Google Suite products
