Position at SBM Management

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for analyzing financial information and prepare financial reports.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions
• Distribute expenditures, encumbrances, receipts, and receivables according to schedules
• Perform statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and write narrative reports explaining findings
• Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital
• Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize/interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers
• Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement
• Determine proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits
• Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures
• Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
• Make recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures
• Conduct studies and submit recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation
• Collect appropriate data and submit information to be used in the preparation of federal, state, and local reports and tax returns

Qualifications:

Education and/ or Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a related field from a four-year college or university with 1-3 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

May be required to have a valid driver's license

Compensation: $62,000 - $65,000 per year
