Staff Accountant

NT Concepts is seeking a proactive, detailed-oriented Staff Accountant. The position focuses on both General Ledger and Billing activities and will be responsible for Customer Invoice preparation, delivery and collection of payments. This role will also support other functions within the accounting department such as Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Payroll.

Location: Vienna, VA with remote flexibility

Duties:

• Prepare customer invoices for manager review and approval including relevant documentation, receipts and reports
• Submit invoices to customers via mail, email or other electronic methods; interact with customers regarding submission of invoices and collection of payment
• Maintain cumulative-to-date billed & funding information. Preemptively and proactively identify issues related to contract endings or funding insufficiencies
• Reconcile and record daily, weekly and monthly invoices and payments in accounting system
• Reconcile, research and document labor and billing history to support contract closeouts
• Set up/maintain project information in the Unanet system; read contracts, extract information, and write up procedures relevant to billing each contract.
• Maintain records in accordance with our retention policy and accepted standards including customer and contracts files
• Maintain schedules for and Submit GSA/GWAC invoice data, CAF remittance and Subcontracting Reports
• Prepare reconciliations of balance sheet accounts (including Prepaid and Cash/Bank accounts) and perform general ledger analysis to identify transactional issues and recommend solutions
• Assist in recordkeeping of all charges of corporate credit cards to include download, coding, classification, matching and collection of receipts for all employee card holders. Reconcile credit card general ledger accounts
• Provide support for Incurred Cost Submissions, interim and annual audits
• Assist with various Year-End closing tasks
• Assist Accounting & Finance departments with other tasks, as assigned

Experience and Education Requirements:

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 2+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience with computer-based accounting systems, preferably Unanet
• Prior experience supporting a government contractor is required
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Knowledge of relevant accounting principles and practices
• Strong documentation, organizational, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively and desire for continued professional growth
• Good written and oral communication skills to interface with other departments, customers and subcontractors, as needed
