POSITION DESCRIPTION
Affinaquest is seeking a staff accountant who will function as part of the accounting and finance team working to prepare and maintain financial records to track the company's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other related financial activities.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Corporate Controller
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide close support to CFO and Controller in executing accounting and finance tasks
- Perform monthly operating expense and balance sheet accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis, and P&L and balance sheet reporting
- Assist with the general ledger month-end close and presentation of the balance sheet and income statement results and analysis to the Controller
- Assist with the preparation of General Ledger entries and reconciliations for month-end closing to close books in a timely manner
- Prepare monthly account analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Review/process expense reports
- Issue and manage customer invoices and process bank deposits
- Approve and process invoices for payment in the vendor payment system
- Manage the Fixed Asset process, policy, and procedure
- Assist with the consolidation of subsidiaries
- Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
- Assist the internal and external financial and tax audit and examination processes, including assisting with the preparation of audited financial statements, footnotes, and supplemental information
- Prepare Ad-hoc financial analysis
- Other projects as assigned
Requirements
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY
- Proficiency with computer software packages (Adobe, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and accounting platforms (preferably NetSuite and Quickbooks)
- Excellent grammar, punctuation, editing, language skills, and letter writing
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with a keen sense of urgency for every task/project
- Must be a detail-oriented person who carefully reviews their own work to ensure complete accuracy of data provided.
- Must be a fast worker who can manage multiple deadlines and will put in the extra effort to complete a task on deadline, same day
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a given time, including during deadline periods
- Ability to work outside normal business hours when necessary, on a daily and weekly basis
- Ability to work unsupervised and set own priorities
- Excellent business judgment and initiative
- Excellent customer relation skills (internally and externally)
- Knowledge of company procedures and organization
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving, and results

IDEAL ATTRIBUTES AND PROVEN CAPABILITIES
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
- 1-3 years of accounting or related experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including US GAAP
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required
- Strong accounting and analytical skills
