STAFF ACCOUNTANT

As a Staff Accountant at FMH, you will maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts, and file premium tax returns and related documents, supporting our mission to enable America's farmers to clothe, feed, and fuel the world.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience: One to three years of accounting experience preferred, but not required.
• Education: Associates degree in Accounting or Finance required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel. Experience with accounting software systems desired.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares journal entries, analyses, and verifies accuracy. Performs monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Reviews, investigates, and corrects any errors or inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
• Manages the premium tax filing process.
• Responsible for maintaining the fixed assets system and related monthly depreciation schedules for all company assets.
• Assists in the preparation of financial statements, regulatory filings, and various related schedules.
• Performs the duties of a Risk Owner Manager by working with risk owners to help identify and assess risks in our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program.
