We have an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team!

Major Responsibilities:

• In an organized and detailed fashion, completes account reconciliations by the assigned due date which includes prepaids, accrued liabilities, intercompany accounts, and others as assigned monthly
• Produce and analyze bank reconciliation data and reports to resolve deposit discrepancies
• Identify, research, report, and resolve all Center-level deposit discrepancies in a timely manner
• Review and analyze subledger activity
• Review accounts payable distribution to GL for consistent coding and to identify expense accruals and reclassifications required
• Certify the completion of internal controls
• Prepare audit support as requested
• Contribute to process improvement projects to increase the team's operational efficiency
• Develop, update, and maintain procedure documents
• Ensure accounting reports and files are maintained in an organized manner to facilitate ease of research and review
• Provide support for annual financial and other regulatory audits
• Adheres to company policies, procedures and practices
• Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• Minimum of three years general accounting experience
• Experience in a multiple location retail environment preferred
• Experience with JD Edwards preferred
• Advanced Excel skills required

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work with Internet, Microsoft Office, ability to use Outlook, word processing and spreadsheet software package skills; must be proficient in Excel
• Ability to be an effective team player and be empathetic
• Ability to work with large data sets from banks and other software packages which will be used for reconciliation
• Ability to be pro-active and to put facts together to solve problems
• Knowledge of accounting rules and procedures
