The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role will primarily focus on accounts payable processing, recording banking cash transactions, managing employee reimbursements, conducting balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting with various accounting projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.

What You'll Do

• Accounts Payable Processing:
• Review, code, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system accurately and timely.
• Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and address inquiries regarding payments.
• Recording and matching company credit card transactions in the accounting system.
• Banking Cash Transactions:
• Record all cash transactions accurately, including deposits, withdrawals, and transfers between accounts.
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure that all transactions are properly recorded in the general ledger.
• Employee Reimbursements:
• Manage employee expense reimbursement process, including reviewing expense reports, verifying receipts, and processing reimbursements in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with company expense policies and IRS regulations.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliation:
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for cash accounts, accounts payable, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or variances identified during the reconciliation process.
• Financial Reporting:
• Provide support for annual audits and regulatory filings as needed.
• Ad Hoc Projects:
• Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management, which may include system upgrades, process automation, or other accounting-related tasks.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, banking, or general accounting roles.
• Proficiency in accounting software Sage Intacct is a plus.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, with a base salary range of $65,000.00 - $80,000.00, a 401k match, healthcare coverage, paid time off, and a broad range of other benefits and perks. Review our benefits at Hazel Health Benefits.
