Staff Accountant
Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability or other financial activities within the facility.
- Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Analyze financial data in order to prepare financial reports.
- Prepare and examine financial reports to ensure the records are accurate and timely.
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
- Prepare month end journal entries and GL account reconciliations within established time frame.
- Assist in the preparation of facility month and year end reporting, statistical reports, budgets and financial reports.
- Prepare required financial reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis as required.
- Prepare weekly FTE report and assist CFO in analyzing and working with department directors to monitor and manage department FTEs to meet budget.
- Ensure the financial records are accurate and filed timely.
- Prepare for schedules and reports per Corporate and other agency's requests.
- Perform AP/Payroll duties as a backup of our current Staff Account.
STAFF ACCOUNTANT QUALIFCATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Strong analytic abilities.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- High degree of attention to detail and multitasking.
- Strong time management and organization skills.
- Ownership and pride in work product.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
- Two years' accounting experience is required.
- Healthcare work experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
Compensation
Compensation for roles at San Jose Behavioral Health varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, San Jose Behavioral Health provides a reasonable hourly range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California as set forth below:
SJBH Range - $65,000 - $75,000 - DOE
