The Role
We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This person will help onboard a newly acquired entity, creating and implementing processes for accounts receivable and collections. They will also assist with the rest of the DRINKS month end close process including recording journal entries and performing balance sheet reconciliations. The right person for this role will be an experienced Staff Accountant who is prepared to stretch to reach a new level of excellence by bringing an insatiable desire to learn new things to this role and take on increased responsibility over time. The right person is also filled with intellectual curiosity and has a lot of questions about how things work and is a tenacious champion of all things accounting related. What You'll Do

• Perform various Accounts Receivable and collection duties, including invoicing and issuing of credit memos, cash application, collection efforts, fielding of billing inquiries from customers, month end reconciliation of related sub ledgers, etc.
• Prepare journal entries with supporting backup, ensuring proper coding is utilized and transaction are accurately explained and supported
• Own various areas of the month end close process, including prepaids, fixed assets, deferred revenue, discounts, cost allocation, deferred rent, and others
• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to ensure financial results are accurately represented and in conformance with US GAAP
• Create detailed documentation of processes and procedures
• Drive and participate in continuous process improvement efforts
• Assist with schedules and support for the annual financial statement audit.
• Support your team with ad-hoc projects as requested

About You

• 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable or accounting
• Highly proficient in Excel
• Associate's Degree in Accounting, Bachelor's Degree preferred
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, follow through, and meet deadlines
• Energetic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Not afraid to ask questions if something doesn't look right
• Exposure to ERP systems, particularly NetSuite
• Ability to learn and execute effectively
• Organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills

Bonus Points For

• Experience with eCommerce or startup businesses
• Working knowledge of US GAAP
• Experience working with multiple business units within a company
