POSITION SUMMARY
AdAction is looking for a motivated and skilled Accountant to join our Finance team, reporting directly to our Financial Controller. As an Accountant at AdAction, you will have a great deal of ownership on a small team and will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks including accounts payable, revenue reporting, commission calculations, journal entries, reconciliations and month-end close processes.

This position requires collaboration across multiple departments, while also being able to work independently. Advanced Excel skills are required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Own the Accounts Payable process end to end
  • Work with the Accounts Receivable team to solve complex clean up issues.
  • Identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and implement changes to improve effectiveness and efficiency
  • Manage payroll, including commissions and preparation of W-2, W-9, and 1099 forms
  • Support management, sales team and partners fielding commission questions and resolving issues with incorrect commissions calculations
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, year-end closing of accounting books
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
  • Prepare financial statements for year end tax reporting
  • Collaborate with other members of the accounting team to support department objectives
  • Monitor and respond to all customer and vendor inquiries in a timely manner
  • Work on special projects and reporting, as needed

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in general accounting (financial reporting, journal entries, accounts payable, payroll, etc.)
  • Understanding of complex excel/sheets formulas
  • Strong technical accounting and financial analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail, reliable and organized
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to multitask and successfully manage time-sensitive projects/requests
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel, Word)
