Staff Accountant
Job Description
The Staff Accountant will be expected to:
- Assist with all aspects of accounting functions (financial reporting, A/P, A/R, payroll, administrative duties), maintaining financial policies and procedures for a strong system of internal controls, and compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local laws.
- Assist with human resource needs including interviewing, onboarding, record keeping and benefit management
- Assist with vendor management including documentation, payment processing, and statement reconciliation
- Assist with gathering information for annual review and tax returns
- Assist with sales tax reporting in multiple jurisdictions
- Assist with implementing strong accounting policies
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations
Requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
- A detail-oriented personality with strong problem-solving skills
- The ability to think critically
- The ability to operate in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented environment
- An interest in developing, refining, and implementing quality business processes
- The ability to build and maintain strong relationships inside and outside the organization
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
- Capability to multi-task and adjust priorities in response to change
- Experience with Microsoft Office with particularly strong Microsoft Excel skills and Zoho Suite
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a bachelor's degree in accounting
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Possess a strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Possess a high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
- Must be self-motivated and self-directed
