Staff Accountant

Overview
As a key member of the Finance organization, the Gogo Business Aviation Staff Accountant is a high-energy, detail-oriented, dynamic individual with a desire to add value to the Gogo team. The Staff Accountant performs a variety of accounting activities in accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles and Standards (GAAP) and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX) to control the organization's financial resources and ensures compliance with all relevant regulations, laws and reporting requirements. This role will drive an accurate and timely accounting close process by meeting corporate and operational accounting objectives.

How will you make a difference?

• Key member of monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities
• Prepare monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Ownership over the accounting process for monthly COGS reporting, inventory cost review, and royalty expense
• Support Inventory Accounting Supervisor and liaise with Senior Accountants to support various tasks and close responsibilities
• Solve problems in straightforward situations; analyze possible solutions using technical experience, judgment and precedents
• Assist in the development and maintenance of accounting procedures
• Partner with Operations researching inventory issues, adjustments and transactions
• Aid with annual physical inventory counts and weekly cycle counts
• Participate in internal and external audits by reviewing audit schedules, ensuring appropriate documentation, and providing evidence of controls performed

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• CPA/CMA certification or CPA/CMA candidate a plus

Required Skills, Talents & Experience

• Accounting experience, (inventory a plus- training will be provided)
• ERP systems experience, Microsoft Navision a plus
• Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint with strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, accounting and management information systems, spreadsheets, and databases
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX
• Effective problem solving; methodical, detail-oriented and analytical approach to issue resolution
• Strong attention to details with analytical, organizational and research abilities

Preferred Skills, Talents & Experience

• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication and messaging skills
• Skilled in evaluating and streamlining processes and systems, developing and implementing policies and procedures to achieve operational efficiencies
• Experience working for a publicly traded company is a plus

Base Pay:
60,800.00 - 76,000.00 USD Annual
Target Annual Short-Term Incentive:
Bonus Plan at 5% (% of Annualized Base Pay)
