Team Overview:
As a part of the Operations team, you will collaborate with our executive team and other teams across the company on a regular basis. Our team members gain a deep understanding of our business and are capable of understanding and anticipating the needs of our employees and customers while maintaining a professional approach in all scenarios.Â
Job Overview:
As a Staff Accountant, you will own various aspects of operations, finance, and internal company infrastructure. You will also be an enthusiastic ambassador for SOE, care deeply about company growth and be excited to work in an engineering consulting environment.
What You Will Do:
- Perform routine accounting functions relating to AR, AP, GL and financial reportingÂ
- Onboard customers & vendors, and process invoices, bills, & payments
- Assist with preparation and documentation for audit, tax planning, compliance, and other operational functions as needed
- Assist in securing lines of credit/loans from financial institutions
- Evaluate and suggest improvements for the effectiveness of accounting software, processes and infrastructure
- Learn about SOE and our projects in order to be knowledgeable when interfacing with technical individuals
- Perform other accounting projects as needed
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor's Degree (Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field)
- 1-3 years of experience in a finance, accounting or related role
- Proficient with Quickbooks and Excel
- Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAPÂ
- Excellent communication skills (presentation, verbal, written, numerical)
- High level of empathy and patience with others
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential financial or personal information
- Ability to travel 10% of the time for meetings or other needs
What Would Be Useful:
- Master’s degree (MBA, Accounting, Finance, or related field)
- Experience working in a startup/tech/consulting environment, prioritizing and managing numerous responsibilities concurrently
- Demonstrated a strong understanding of preparing and interpreting financial statementsÂ
- Demonstrated ability working independently and in large multidisciplinary teamsÂ
- Understanding of the technical requirements, engineering projects, and working with engineering teams
- Ability to learn quickly and a curiosity for engineering
- High level of organization and attention to detail
Additional Requirements:
- Applicant must be willing to work 40 hours a week on-site in El Segundo, California, USA
- Applicant must be eligible to work on ITAR projects
