Overview:

The Staff Accountant will perform a variety of accounting operations including accounts analysis and reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and special projects that directly improve accounting functions. 

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:   

• Assists with daily, monthly, quarterly, and year-end operations.
• Prepares, examines, or analyzes accounting records, expense coding, sales and use tax accounts, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and internal procedural standards.
• Performs ad hoc analysis and recommends improvement measures including ways to automate accounting operations.
• Interfaces with internal customers and external auditors.
• Assists with monthly balance sheet and P & L Fluctuation Analysis (monthly expense variance analysis).
• Supports physical inventory and monthly cycle counts.
• Interfaces with Customer Service Reps to maintain records of sales tax exemption certificates.

Required Qualifications & Skills: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 2+ years’ experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel skills, including use of pivot tables and vLookup functions.

Preferred Skills:

• Manufacturing and cost account experience.
• Experience in general ledger accounting.
