Staff Accountant

Headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota, Sentera builds specialized software, analytics, cameras and drones that capture and integrate in-field data insights and images with digital ag platforms. Agronomists, researchers, growers, seed retailers and supply chain managers use insights from our products to improve the precision, efficiency, and sustainability of their businesses.

Sentera's mission is to deliver time sensitive agricultural insights that optimize decisions and improve outcomes. Our integrated software and sensor products make it easy to integrate in-field data insights with the digital ag platforms in use by more than 80% of the growers in North America.

Sentera has organically grown with team members across the U.S. We have built a high performance, customer focused culture and are looking to add a new Staff Accountant to our team to work out of our St. Paul, Minnesota location.

Requirements

The Staff Accountant role will directly support Sentera's Controller with the day-to-day management of the accounts receivable and accounts payable processes. The ideal candidate has an extreme attention to detail and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. The primary duties of this role include:

• Accounts receivable and payable management.
• Create and distribute customer invoices daily.
• Receive, deposit, and record customer payments.
• Manage A/R collections from identifying the past due balance to collection.
• Process customer refunds and credits.
• Reconcile QuickBooks Online and Bill.com A/P Aging.
• Process weekly vendor payments via Bill.com
• Compile reports and summaries for contractor and partner commissions quarterly.
• Work collaboratively with various departments and external auditors to perform accounting audits.
• Manage financial document filing and retention.

Qualifications

• 5+ years accounting experience and/or small business bookkeeping experience
• Bachelor or Associate degree in accounting
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Divvy, Microsoft Office, and Google Platforms
• Knowledge of accounting practices and principles, GAAP, and regulatory processes
• Detail oriented and able to effectively organize and manage multiple responsibilities
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Able to work collaboratively across all levels of management and suggest improvements to various processes

Additional Details

• FLSA and Job Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time (40+ hour work week)
• Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
• Work location: Interested candidates should expect to work onsite in our St. Paul, Minnesota location. A hybrid work option may be arranged further into employment with the ability to work remotely 2-3 days per week. Relocation assistance will not be provided.
