Amscot, a leading financial services provider in the state of Florida, is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Department. The Staff Accountantwill be responsible for daily and monthly reconciliations, assisting with the month end close, maintaining fixed assets and lease accounting for the company. This role is suited for an individual seeking an opportunity for growth and development.

An ideal candidate for the Staff Accountant role should be savvy in Excel, have excellent organizational, analytical, people skills, and the ability to create and maintain a team-oriented environment. The Staff Accountant should also possess the ability to review and analyze accounts and meet timelines in completing assignments with deadlines and due dates and have strong integrity and ethics.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

• Performs general ledger balance sheet reconciliations and verifies accuracy of data.
• Assist with coding invoices.
• Fixed Assets
• Lease accounting.
• Assist with financial audit preparation.
• Support monthly and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and accruals.
• Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactions.
• Applies a broad knowledge of advanced accounting methods and procedures.
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Department projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Educational/Other Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• CPA preferred
• 2-4 years of accounting experience preferably with public accounting experience
• Knowledge of accounting and finance principles and procedures
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills and ability to multi-task
• Strong knowledge and proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality.
