Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will perform general accounting and financial processes. Responsible for all daily accounting tasks, including entering invoices and updating expense files, account reconciliations, and assisting with budget and close processes.

Duties and responsibilities

• Reconcile bank statements.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts.

• Streamline workflow process and collaborate with team members on process efficiencies.
• Independently preparing journal entries for account reconciliations.
• Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g., by assets, liabilities, and expenses).
• Generate reports for AP aging, Check runs, & Vendor management.
• Respond to vendor/client requests.
• Analyze data and assist during month-end and year-end close process.
• Initiate and improve accounting procedures, process improvements and best practices to ensure higher accuracy and compliance rates.

Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years experience as a Staff Accountant or relevant role in Accounting.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• Logistics, supply chain or warehouse experience is desirable
• High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
• Experience in large ERP accounting software (NetSuite is a plus).
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
• Excellent prioritization and organization skills: ability to plan and organize work efficiently and effectively.
