Staff Accountant

As an Accountant at Green Thumb, you will be responsible for supporting accounting operations on our finance team. You will need to wrap your arms around the daily cash and sales accounting, monthly closing responsibilities, journal entries, reporting, accounts payable and accounts receivable for Green Thumb and its subsidiaries. You possess strong business acumen with the ability to effectively address both financial and operational challenges. Most importantly, you must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up culture such as Green Thumb. 

• Supports all functions of the retail accounting team including journal entries, bank reconciliation, cash reconciliation, account reconciliations and month-end close 
• Performs bank reconciliations across all subsidiaries daily, including the reconciliation of cashless customer payments 
• Reconciles cash in store balances across all retail locations daily 
• Reconciles deposits across all retail locations daily 
• Reconciles cash/debit/ACH sales across all retail locations daily 
• Reviews petty cash transactions and supporting documentation according to company policy 
• Assists with the preparation of weekly financial reports 
• Prepares month-end cash reconciliations 
• Engages ad hoc projects and workflow process improvements as requested 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field preferred 
• 2+ year experience in accounting 
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office required 
• Experience in Sage Intacct and MS Power Platform preferred 
• Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
