The Role
The Staff Accountant is a key member of the finance team working together with the Sr. Corporate Controller, Senior Accountant II, and FP&A team to maintain control of the accounting functions of the company. This role will be responsible for the integrity and accuracy of financial data and systems, the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process and will assist with monthly financial reporting.

The Staff Accountant is a key member of the finance team working together with the Sr. Corporate Controller, Senior Accountant II, and FP&A team to maintain control of the accounting functions of the company. This role will be responsible for the integrity and accuracy of financial data and systems, the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process and will assist with monthly financial reporting.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Maintain a monthly close schedule and prepare adjusting journal entries
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
- Drive improvements to the internal accounting processes through automation
- Support GAAP compliance in all accounting areas, including but not limited to:
- Revenue recognition - Software as a Service (SaaS)
- Operating Leases
- Stock Options
- Depreciation and Amortization
- Intercompany Transactions and Consolidations
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting (GAAP, Debt Covenant, Investor, etc.)
- Assist in maintaining and improving accounting controls and procedures
- Support treasury functions and banking relationships
- Support annual GAAP audit, 401(k) audit and general interaction with external auditors
- Support general ledger system (FinancialForce) and reporting software
- Participate in GAAP research and policy documentation
- Work cross-functionally with other departments (Professional Services, Product, etc.) on both finance and ad-hoc projects
- Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Other ad hoc general accounting and/or finance projects as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with a proven track record obtaining results and meeting deadlines
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or Graduate Degree preferred
- Experience in financial reporting and consolidations
- Collaboration & teamwork: required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP; experience with revenue recognition in the software industry desirable
- Strong leadership and cross-functional skills
- General ledger systems experience
- Experience working with Salesforce and FinancialForce preferred
- Excellent Excel skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented
