Job Description

The Staff Accountant is a key member of the company's accounting & finance team and reports to the Senior Staff Accountant. This role is responsible for performing account reconciliations and leading the Accounts Receivable process. This position will also be involved with assisting the Senior Staff Accountant and the Controller as needed to respond to information requests by management, external business partners and for financial audit purposes. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter capable of demonstrating creativity in development and management of procedures and processes, as well as excellent conflict management and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements
  • Maintain and update accounting records and files and assist in developing improvements in the Company's monthly financial close process
  • Prepare account reconciliations and analytics using Oracle NetSuite reporting for audit, vendors/customers and/or management requests
  • Oversee the administration of accounts receivable and maintaining related files and records
  • Maintain documentation for accounts payable, purchasing and ensuring that payables are charged to the correct accounts.
  • Work with the Accounting team to improve financial processes.
  • Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g. by assets, liabilities and expenses).
  • Work with the Management Team to assist with special projects as required
  • Effectively manage change within the organization resulting from necessary process
  • improvements, new Company policies and/or business acquisitions
  • Maintain financial accuracy and discretion while meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrate a strong working knowledge and practical experience applying US
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite preferred
  • Experience in business with international sourcing and distribution of durable goods highly desired
  • Experience executing accounting period-end closing function within the confines of a cloud-based ERP system highly desired
  • Public accounting audit experience a plus
