Staff Accountant

SUMMARYTrailer Bridge is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing journal entries, assisting with monthly closings, and performing account reconciliations. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting ongoing process improvements.Additional Duties and Responsibilities • Prepare and post journal entries for recurring and adjusting transactions • Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes • Prepare balance sheet and income statement schedules as needed • Support fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules • Participate in external audit requests • Maintain documentation for accounting processes and controls • Support special projects and process improvement initiatives • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual state tax filings Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting • 1–3 years of accounting experience • Strong understanding of GAAP • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Other Characteristics • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines • Effective communication and collaboration skills • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with all levels of the organization • Supports the culture of Trailer Bridge by modeling and encouraging the TB12 – Trailer Bridge’s core values A few Benefits we currently offer: • Medical, Dental & Vison Coverage • Mental Health Coverage • 401k, Life Insurance, Short- & Long-Term Disability Insurance • Health Savings Account & Flexible Spending Account • Generous PTO Plan & Paid Holidays • Class Pass Credits • Opportunity for internal career advancement • Mentorship & Leadership Development Programs EEO/AA Institution.
