Staff Accountant-McKenzie, TN (Onsite-4 days a week & 1 day a week work from home)

The successful Candidate will be a "hands-on" individual contributor with strong accounting, financial analysis, reporting skills, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. This individual should be proactive, committed to continuous improvement of processes and can consistently apply policies and procedures. This position will report to the Plant Controller.

What You Will Do:

• Perform a variety of close, reporting, and support tasks within the Accounting department of an established company.
• Update and Maintain Plant Metrics working with Plant Controllers and distribute to operations and finance leadership
• Prepare month end journal entries and reconciliations timely and accurately maintaining GAAP and FICAP compliance.
• Manage Fixed Asset control, CIP classifications and monitor in service dates.
• Partner with finance and plant leaders to gain alignment in processes.
• Participate in Sarbanes Oxley testing reporting, with emphasis on prevention, elimination, and timely close-out of control deficiencies
• Other assigned tasks.

What You Will Need to Succeed:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, but a bachelor's degree is required.
• 0-3 years' experience in finance or accounting. Experience in a manufacturing company would be preferred.
• Strong computer and financial analysis skills.
• Ability to work and communicate well with all types of people inside and outside of the organization.
• A good understanding of financial statements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles required.
• Must be detail-oriented.
