We are the world’s largest producer of sustainable wood pellets, which provide a low-carbon alternative to fossil fuels.

Enviva is seeking to add a Staff Accountant reporting to a Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting.  This new member to the Corporate Accounting Team will be responsible for accounting matters various Corporate Accounting Functions.

Responsibilities

  • Executing monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in accordance with closing schedule;
  • Managing the monthly reconciliation processes;
  • Preparing assigned balance sheet reconciliations and P&L variance analyses;
  • Preparing timely and accurate consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP;
  • Compiling and providing accounting documents, schedules, and other relevant information to support quarterly reviews, and annual audits;
  • Supporting the budgeting and forecasting processes;
  • Preparing Corporate departmental reporting to include variance analyses between actual results and budgeted/forecasted expectations;
  • Preparing monthly actual vs. budgeted presentations for monthly executive finance review meetings;
  • Create checklist and put in procedures necessary to remain SOX Compliant;
  • Ensure all internal controls are designed properly, and operating effectively, with no SDs/MWs and implement improvements found during both internal and external auditors review of these controls;
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders to provide for a collaborative team environment; and
  • Contributing to Corporate projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A./B.S. in Accounting required
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • CPA or working toward CPA certification, preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks, ensuring that deadlines are met
  • High competency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated self-starter; identifies potential improvements to existing processes
  • Comfortable working in unstructured environment
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Strong Attention to Detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus

Travel requirements

  • Less than 10%

Working Conditions

  • Corporate office environment, hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 3 days a week in the office
