In this role, you'll work closely with the Revenue Manager, other members of the Accounting team, as well as cross-functionally, to ensure Flatiron's revenue recognition policies, procedures, and reporting are in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS. You will be involved in cross-functional projects and solving problems to reduce potential risks while influencing and collaborating with others towards ultimate success. Flatiron is looking for an individual who is excited to work in a fast-paced environment and determined to get the job done. You'll also:

  • Assist in the review of customer contracts for revenue recognition to ensure proper accounting treatment in accordance with IFRS 15. This includes reviewing key data points in SalesForce, Flatiron's CRM and CPQ system, and ensuring the billing and revenue schedules are complete and accurate in NetSuite, Flatiron's ERP system
  • Assist in monitoring the finance inbox, and appropriately flagging issues to the relevant team member to resolve.
  • Assist in the month-end close for revenue accounts in NetSuite and Salesforce including validating orders and quotes in Salesforce, preparing journal entries, analyses, account reconciliations and roll-forwards, as well as assist with on-going enhancements to our close process.
  • Prepare month end and quarter end analytical and flux analyses as part of the procedures to gain comfort over the financials.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams (business operations, legal, account management, sales, and corporate applications) to improve existing processes and support business needs.
  • Become a subject matter expert in the Quote to Cash process in order to contribute to the transformation, optimization and automation of revenue processes.
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to review historic data as part of resolving customer issues.
  • Other responsibilities include ad hoc analysis and special projects.
  • Work closely with external auditors to support our annual financial statement audits, as applicable.
  • Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements.

Who You Are
You're a resourceful Accountant with 2-3 years of experience in Big Four or national public accounting firms OR 3-4 years of combined experience in public accounting and industry. You're excited by the prospect of rolling up your sleeves to tackle meaningful problems each and every day. You are detail oriented, thorough, curious, and have strong communication skills. You're a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who seeks and gives candid feedback, and values the chance to make an important impact.

  • You have strong analytical skills and detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to think creatively and collaboratively
  • You have a strong interest and excitement for understanding and building systems and processes; you enjoy working on ambiguous projects thinking out of the box for solutions

  • You hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
