Job Description
Position Summary
Energetiq is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a dynamic and growing technology company. This integral role in the Finance & Accounting Department will focus on accounts receivable, accounts payable, and treasury along with some general ledger responsibilities for month-end. There is an opportunity to grow within the department for the right candidate. This position reports to the Controller.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts receivable, billing and collections
- Generate and issue customer invoices and apply customer payments
- Respond to customer billing inquiries
- Send past due notices to customers
Accounts payable, expense reports and credit cards
Invoice processing
- Enter invoices into Syspro and Concur
- Set up new suppliers in Syspro and Concur
- Prepare weekly ACH run for review by VP Finance
- Respond to supplier inquiries
Concur administration
- Maintain organizational approval limits for expense reports and invoices
- Send monthly reminders for submitting expense and credit card reports
Expense reports
- Send monthly reminders for submitting expense reports
- Follow up with supervisors to ensure reports are approved timely
- Review expense report coding to ensure accurate expense reporting in the GL
Credit cards
- Send monthly reminders for submitting credit card reports
- Follow up with supervisors to ensure reports are approved timely
- Review credit card report coding to ensure accurate expense reporting in the GL
- Reconcile credit card activity to the Amex and BOA statements monthly
Cash and investments
- Reconcile operating cash account daily
- Record investment activity
- Deposit checks from customers
Reporting, tax, month- and year-end
Reporting and analytics
- Weekly preparation of the A/P and A/R aging, to be reviewed with the Controller
- Monthly reporting on A/R and A/P, to include aging analysis, DSO and DPO
- Support the controller with performing ad hoc analysis on operating expenses
Month-end & year-end close
- Prepare and record journal entries in the general ledger
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts
- Assist with monthly financials by providing summary reports for certain accounts
Tax and statutory reporting
- Heavily support the annual 1099 filing process
Financial statement review and audit
- Support the annual financial statement review and audit
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Demonstrable knowledge of core accounting principles
- Proficiency with Excel including VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, and experience working with large data sets
- Experience with a middle- or top-tier ERP system (e.g. Oracle, Dynamics, SAP)
- Strong attention to detail with an analytical and inquisitive nature
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to balance multiple deliverables and deadlines
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Comfortable communicating with all levels and departments in the organization
