Job Description

Position Profile:

The Accountant reports directly to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures. This role is not a supervisory role and has no direct reports.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain GL account reconcilements and subsidiary ledgers daily
  • Ensure month-end close deadlines are met
  • Enter/schedule general ledger entries for review
  • Process cash receipts and deposit checks
  • Reconcile bank accounts daily
  • Prepare customer invoices
  • Ensure receivables are collected promptly
  • Research and resolve accounts receivable discrepancies
  • Ensure the status of sales tax collection and business licensing obligations are met
  • Collect, enter, and organize accounts payable
  • Obtain vendor invoice approval when needed
  • Research and resolve AP discrepancies
  • Process approved purchase orders
  • Schedule weekly payments to vendors/suppliers
  • Analyze and report vendor payment trends
  • Analyze corporate credit card usage
  • Reconcile payments to 3rd party license providers with customer contracts
  • Assist with annual review by external accountants
  • Prepare 1099 vendor documentation
  • Prepare usage reports for suppliers (self-reported usage)
  • Prepare monthly management reports
  • Calculate and record commissions and bonus payouts (monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Process customer credit and other accounting requests
  • Review and process customer quotes and contracts in Salesforce as needed
  • Ad hoc analysis and reporting
  • Other duties as assigned

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required or equivalent business experience
  • 0 - 2 years of hands-on accounting experience
  • Thorough understanding of US GAAP and bookkeeping
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and accounting software systems (Accounting Seed preferred)
  • Salesforce CPQ experience preferred
  • Power Query and Power BI experience preferred
