Staff Accountant

Overview A growing commercial real estate development and management firm is looking for a motivatedStaff Accountantto join our accounting department. We are looking for someone with strong academic knowledge & the desire to master core accounting responsibilities and grow a long-term career within the company. Key Responsibilities • Accounts Payable Management:Take full ownership of the Accounts Payable function for all operational and development entities, including processing invoices, managing vendor relations, and ensuring timely payment across all project entities. • General Ledger Maintenance:Process journal entries, manage accounts receivable, and assist with bank and general ledger reconciliations. • Fixed Assets:Calculate and record depreciation and amortization expenses. • System Management:Utilize and maintain accounting software (QuickBooks proficiency is a strong plus). • Financial Support:Assist senior staff with preparing documentation for month-end close and audit support. • Learning & Growth:Eagerly learn more complex accounting tasks, including tax support and intercompany transactions, as proficiency develops. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred. • Solid foundational knowledge of GAAP, debits/credits, and basic financial statement preparation. • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks or similar accounting software. • Strong analytical skills and impeccable attention to detail, especially in high-volume transaction environments. • Must be eager to learn, take initiative, and grow with the company. Compensation $50,000 – $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
