We are seeking a detail-oriented staff accountant to join our finance team. This position requires a professional, adaptable, organized, proactive, individual who is able to work independently in completing assigned duties in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a bright, positive, team player mentality, and who is also an excellent communicator. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing bank reconciliation process, accrued Inventory liabilities and ensuring timely and accurate assigned month end close Journals and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor bank transactions, investigate and gather support for miscellaneous transactions, and reconcile related balance sheet accounts.
• Reconcile sales tax payable accounts; investigate and resolve variances.
• Reconcile landed cost and tariffs payable accounts.
• Monitor open vendor deposits and accrued purchases to ensure proper billing; reconcile related balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with expense coding review.
• Prepare relevant journal entries and accompanying support for review.
• Assist with audit requests and SOX control activities.
• Perform other month end close tasks and reconciliations, as assigned.
• Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

• B.S./B.A. in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
• 2 years of experience (preferred Consumer Products or Retail, with public accounting experience).
• Inventory experience a plus
• Knowledge and application of US GAAP
• Advanced knowledge and experience in Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Direct experience with Accounting ERP systems (NetSuite or SAP required)
• Proven ability to operate and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth company by maintaining focus, strong organization, and time management skills.
• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high work quality.
• Solution orientated and innovative with the desire to bring ideas forward and get involved in all areas of business.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
