CLA is looking to hire a Staff Accountant for our growing outsourcing practice and can sit in our West Hartford, Marlborough or Shelton, CT offices.

As a Staff Accountant, you will:

• Support multiple clients, software, and chart of accounts on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Complete month-end and other quarterly and annual processing under the guidance of other BizOps team members.
• Day to Day Transactions: Coordinates & processes accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and payroll.
• Month End Processing: Completes basic financial statements. Coordinates and completes non-complex account reconciliations (i.e. bank & credit card reconciliations, prepaids, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, accruals.)
• Other Quarterly/Annual Processing: Completes sales tax returns, Form 1099s and other forms or items as requested by clients.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field OR Associates degree in Accounting or related field plus 2 years of accounting experience OR Associates in unrelated field plus Accounting Certificate plus 2 years of accounting experience.
• One to two years of experience providing accounting and financial services is preferred, exceptions can occur based on work to be performed.
• Technical knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Intacct, Xero, Bill.com, Expensify) and other applicable software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
• Ability to travel to local client sites as needed.
