Staff Accountant - Real Asset Fund and Corporate Services
Job Description
Reports to Financial Reporting Manager
This highly numerical position will be working with a newly established team in our US office, who service Real Estate and Infrastructure mid-market and institutional clients. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact to our growing US business. This is a hybrid role with expectations of 3 days per week in our Radnor office.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist with all aspects of accounting matters for a portfolio of Real Estate and Infrastructure Funds and SPVs, which includes responding to ad-hoc investor and client requests.
- Production of bank reconciliations
- Preparation of statutory annual accounts in accordance with US GAAP (and perhaps other reporting standards such as IFRS and UK/Lux GAAP)
- Liaising with auditors and collating audit requests
- Preparation of bookkeeping, assisting with financial reporting/consolidations and investor reporting
- Coaching of more junior members of staff on routine tasks
Skills, knowledge, expertise:
- Bachelor or MBA in Accounting or Finance
- Experience of using Yardi and/or eFront preferable but not mandatory
- At least 2 years previous experience in Fund Accounting, ideally in the alternative funds sector (either in-house with a fund manager or a fund administrator)
- Sound technical knowledge of US GAAP and reporting required for the alternative funds sectors
- Computer literacy, word processing and spread sheet skills are essential
- Collaboration and teamwork skills
- Good interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a ‘can-do’ attitude
We will provide training to enhance your professional development (either in-house through the Aztec Academy, or externally through the use of accounting, legal and tax experts). You will need to be quick to learn new systems and great with people, as close working relationships between our colleagues and clients is at the heart of what we do. We also support individuals wanting to undertake professional studies such as CPA.
