Staff Accountant (Remote - US Only)

Your Role:

As a Staff Accountant, your primary responsibility will be the owner of transactional accounting across a broad spectrum of functional accounting areas.  These areas include expenses, fixed assets, cash, credit cards, travel & entertainment administration, and the recording of all payroll journal entries.  In addition to ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the entry of these transactions, the Staff Accountant will also own certain month-end reconciliations, including all cash accounts, accruals, prepaids, and other to-be-determined areas.  The Staff Accountant will also work to condense our close cycle, support our auditors, and be involved with our upcoming accounting system implementation.  
 
This is an individual contributor role that is 100% remote and will report directly to our Senior Manager of accounting while also working closely with the rest of the accounting and finance team (which is filled with a rapidly growing group of rockstars!).  This is a key and foundational addition to our team and is a great opportunity to build a super solid accounting career/work with a team that cares about your development.   

Daily Adventures & Responsibilities:

• Serve as the team’s primary transactional accountant across multiple functional areas
• Perform certain month-end close activities including posting journal entries, reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, and preparing financial statement analytics
• Assist in the implementation of NetSuite, and work closely with the financial systems manager on data migration, testing, and training
• Assist in the annual audit process including evidence gathering for external auditors and the group accounting department
• Identify and drive accounting process improvement with a focus on future scalability
• Assume other duties and responsibilities as the need arises!

Experienced Required to apply for this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 2-4 years of related accounting experience
• Big 4/Public accounting experience is a plus
• SAAS and startup experience a plus
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote first environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally at all levels in an efficient manner
• Highly motivated with the ability to work in a rapidly changing global and remote environment
• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• CPA/CPA track is required
