STAFF ACCOUNTANT, TECHNICAL ACCOUNTING

Job Purpose: Perform designated tasks in the area of technical sub-ledger accounting relating to premiums, claims, the Bonding line of business, and the World Agency line of business

Responsibilities• Prepare assigned segments of the monthly premium accounting closing, including processing all transactions into the Compass Financials sub ledger, preparation of quarterly bad debt analysis, reconciliation of SAP premium/UPR interface files to month end reports, JE's, account reconciliations, financial analyses, Compass Financials bug fix testing, and coordination with the Policy Admin/Customer Accounting teams.• Prepare assigned segments of the monthly claim accounting closing, including processing all transactions into the Cadre+ sub ledger, preparation of quarterly bad debt analysis, reconciliation of SAP claim/loss reserve interface file to month end reports, JE's, account reconciliations, financial analyses, and Cadre+ bug fix testing.• Perform coordination with the collection company to maintain accurate IMX data feeds and daily ACH reconciliation .• Prepare assigned segments of the monthly Bonding line of business closing, including processing all transactions into the Avalis sub ledger, reconciliation of the SAP premium/UPR interface files to month end reports, JE's, account reconciliations, financial analyses, and Avalis bug fix testing.• Prepare assigned segments of the monthly World Agency line of business closing, including processing all transactions into the Pluriform sub ledger, preparation of quarterly bad debt analysis, reconciliation of daily SAP interfaces to month end reports, JE's, account reconciliations, financial analyses, and coordination with the WA Central Accounting team and local WA MMCD team.• Responsible for various bank reconciliation research efforts, coordinating with the GL, Reporting, and Investments team, Policy Administration, and team for timely resolution of reconciling items.• Prepare documentation as requested by auditors and regulators.

Qualifications• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree. Advanced degree or CPA preferred• 1 to 3 years experience in accounting field• Accounting and technical know-how, basis for understanding of accounting, and advanced technical systems. Work in SAP environment preferred.• Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP accounting rules.• Good MS Excel, MS Office.#LI-BP1#LI-Baltimore#LI-Hybrid
