Staff Accountant - Temporary

About the role

Our Accounting team is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated team member who will own general ledger accounting and other critical tasks within the organization. This opportunity will give direct experience analyzing expenses, resolving accounting discrepancies, and preparing daily and month end reconciliations for a range of accounts. 

This position will be remote and require candidates to work a 40 hour work week. The hourly rate for this role ranges between $18-$20/hour.

What you’ll do

• Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of expenses
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
• Prepare month end journal entries related to PCard, Travel Expense Reports, and Open Purchase Orders
• Prepare month end account reconciliations for GL accounts
• Prepare daily reconciliations as needed
• Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
• Maintains Accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls and policies
• Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
• Review Open Purchase Order Report and maintain at 90 days or less
• Maintains customer and management confidence by keeping financial information confidential
• Assist in internal and external audit process
• Ad hoc analysis and project work as directed by Management

Who you are

• Minimum 1 - 2 years of accounting experience
• Bachelor’s Degree, Accounting/Business degree are all a plus
• Demonstrable basic understanding of, and ability to apply US GAAP
• Strong analytical skills and a strong sense or curiosity
• Advanced Excel skills
• Accounting systems:  NetSuite, Coupa and Hyperion are a plus
