Hybrid: 2 day/week in office
Role Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our accounting team as a Staff Accountant/Payroll. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, payroll processing, and compliance with accounting standards. Your meticulous approach, strong analytical skills, and familiarity with the general ledger and payroll procedures will contribute to the organization's financial integrity.
Responsibilities
- General Ledger, Procure-to-Pay, Treasury
- Oversee day-to-day AP operations, including vendor relations, purchases, payments, and credit card transactions.
- Ensure procurement policy adherence and controls for AP.
- Assist the Senior Accounting Manager with AP financial close tasks.
- Review and approve employee expenses according to policy.
- Administer credit card program, coding, user setup, and refunds.
- Initiate banking transactions: ACH, wires, manual checks, and entity transfers.
- Perform month-end treasury activities & bank reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing tax filings, month-end/year-end closings, and manage the general ledger.
- Payroll & Related
- Prepare semi-monthly and special off-cycle payrolls accurately and within the required time, including, but not limited to, bonus payroll, stock compensation, and severance.
- Validate and process new hires and terms; enter deductions and ensure accurate setup and compliance with company policies.
- Support employee benefits administration, including 401k, FSA, and other voluntary benefits/deductions and reconciliations.
- Other payroll & related activities as directed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. (Sage Intacct is a plus)
- Professional certification (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional - CPP) is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Staff Accountant with some payroll-related exposure and/or experience.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Compensation & Benefits
