Sentara Healthcare is currently hiring a Staff Actuary for Optima Health!
This is a Full Time position with day shift hours and great benefits!
Remote opportunities available in the following states: Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Nevada, Wyoming, South Dakota, Washington and Indiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Maryland.
Job Requirements:
- ASA Certificate (Associate of Society of Actuaries)
- Bachelors Degree
- 4 years Healthcare Actuarial Analysis experience
Primary responsibilities include:
- Perform any and all of the functions normally associated with a qualified health actuary including: IBNR calculation; the determination of rating factors such as age, sex, location, or industry; development of rates and filings for the BOI; suggestions for periodic group rating changes; development of necessary rates for government programs; assistance with the development, implementation and maintenance of new products, services and systems, including any necessary rate development; providing actuarial input to the Corporate management staff level; and reporting on the financial status of entire products or segments of products
- Serve as resource to actuarial analysts and financial consultants. Work independently to meet external and internal deadlines
- This position is also responsible for various Ad-hoc analysis and reporting based on customer needs.

For applicants within Washington State, the following hiring range will be applied: $104,242 to $126,322 annually.

4 years healthcare actuarial analysis. Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) required. Analytical and problem-solving skills are required, ability to mentor actuarial students required. Proficient in spreadsheet software applications with advanced level skills in database management software, solid organizational and presentation skills.
