Summary Description:
OneEnergy is adding a Staff Attorney with significant commercial real estate experience (4 to 6 years) to our two-person in-house legal team. This is a full time, permanent position available for an in-house senior attorney with experience related to transactional real estate matters.
The senior legal counsel will assist the company’s General Counsel and the OneEnergy team to develop, finance, construct and sell solar energy projects across the United States. This role works cohesively and collaboratively with the General Counsel and across other companywide functional teams, including Development, Delivery, Operations, Finance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and negotiate undeveloped real property lease agreements and other real estate agreements for project transmission and access rights.
- Review real property title reports and assist with clearing title exceptions.
- Review and analyze property surveys. Prepare documentation to assist with resolving survey and related title issues.
- Support the development team in property tax negotiations and abatement.
- Prepare and negotiate engineering, procurement and construction agreements and other related agreements for the construction of solar energy projects.
- Assist with the preparation of loan agreements for the construction of solar energy projects.
- Prepare and negotiate asset sale agreements for the sale of solar energy projects.
- Prepare corporate documents, including authorization of the applicable OneEnergy parties to purchase/sell solar energy projects.

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate from a nationally accredited law school and admitted to practice law in Wisconsin.
- 4-6 years of experience in real estate group of a multi-state law firm, with an emphasis on development of unimproved property and construction, finance and sale of real property.
- Experience in preparing and negotiating real estate-related contracts, including ground leases, engineering, procurement and construction agreements, construction loan agreements and real estate sale agreements.
- Knowledge of solar energy development is preferred, but not a requirement so long as the applicant has a strong commercial real estate background.
- Demonstrated track record of success in real-estate related legal work, with an emphasis on development of unimproved real property, construction of commercial buildings and sale of improved and unimproved real property.

- Experience in preparing and negotiating a myriad of real estate-related project documents.
- Must demonstrate a high degree of time management and organizational skills resulting in the ability to prioritize/manage multiple projects at various stages of delivery.

- Demonstrated qualities of integrity, credibility, and fiduciary responsibility.

- Strong attention to detail with a high level of integrity and organizational capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
- Position may require some travel, up to 1 week per month.
