Job Description
Verisign enables the security, stability, and resiliency of key internet infrastructure and services, including providing root zone maintainer services, operating two of the 13 global internet root servers, and providing registration services and authoritative resolution for the .com and .net top-level domains, which support the majority of global e-commerce.
The Staff Auditor is responsible for assisting Internal Audit management with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance activities as well as operational and financial audits. The incumbent would not only identify issues but also would be a partner in providing solutions.
Primary responsibilities for this position may include:
- Conducting process walkthrough meetings with business unit contacts and assessing the design of internal controls for key business processes
- Performing testing to access the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting
- Coordinating with the external auditors as needed during their annual integrated audit
- Assisting with audits per the approved audit plan, special projects or administrative duties as assigned by Internal Audit management
- Preparing and maintaining documentation to support the annual SOX assessment and audit work papers
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
- 2+ years of related work experience
- Experience with SOX compliance is required, and of Information Technology General Controls is preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to employees and management
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills a must
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and SharePoint
- General understanding of the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
- Willingness to travel, if required
