The role of the BMS system engineer is responsible for leading to analyze the vehicle, pack, and enduser specifications or requirements, and to refine customer needs in to BMS system requirements. Derive BMS system requirements to HW and SW requirements and design validation plan. Design the BMS system architecture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Interpret customer needs, provide BMS system requirement and design solutions that meet customer technical specifications and technical needs.
• Ensure requirements are prioritized in line with customer need and aligned with Gotion business objectives.
• Derive BMS system requirements to HW and SW requirements and design validation plan. • Propose BMS system solutions according to customer’s budget and timeline.
• Being the interface person between customer and internal system/subsystem design teams.
• Lead system level requirements development from the vehicle and pack level requirements.
• Coordinate system level HIL testing and vehicle testing
• Lead system level DFMEA development
• Lead system level issue root cause investigation and identification

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 3+ years of BMS development experience
• Good knowledge of the traction battery/ energy storage architecture and sub-system architecture
• Familiar with charging standards, familiar with SOX estimation algorithm, familiar with high voltage control strategy
• Good knowledge of product standards, design rules, tools, and methods
• Problem solving techniques, such as FMEA, 8D required
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Additional work experience in new energy vehicle development, battery system design, system sizing, or energy storage system solution design a plus

For this position, the reasonably expected pay range is between $­­­­70,000 and $100,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
