Staff BMS System Engineer (Battery Management System)

Gotion is funded by Guoxuan Hi-tech, a leading power battery technology company that provides solutions for vehicles including the world’s first mass commercial e-bus route.

The role of the BMS system engineer is responsible for analyzing the vehicle, pack, and end-user specifications or requirements, and refining customer needs into BMS system requirements. Derive BMS system requirements to HW and SW requirements and design validation plan. Design the BMS system architecture.

• Interpret customer needs, provide BMS system requirements and design solutions that meet customer technical specifications and technical needs.
• Derive BMS system requirements to HW and SW requirements and design validation plan.
• Propose BMS system solutions according to the customer’s budget and timeline.
• Being the interface person between customer and internal system/subsystem design teams
• Lead system-level requirements development from the vehicle and pack-level requirements
• Coordinate system-level HIL testing and vehicle testing.
• Lead system-level DFMEA development
• Lead system-level issue root cause investigation and identification

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 3-5 years of BMS development experience
• Good knowledge of the traction battery/ energy storage architecture and sub-system architecture
• Good knowledge of product standards, design rules, tools, and methods
• Problem solving techniques, such as FMEA, 8D required.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Additional work experience in new energy vehicle development, battery system design, system sizing, BMS, or energy storage system solution design a plus

For this position, the reasonably expected pay range is between $­­­­ 70,000 and $ 90,000 for the level at which this job has been scoped.
