Staff Business Intelligence Engineer

By developing and maintaining high-quality data solutions, you will empower teams to make informed decisions, optimize processes, and drive business growth. A Typical Day: 

On a typical day, you might start by reviewing the latest data requirements from various teams, prioritizing tasks, and planning your day accordingly. You could spend time developing new data models, optimizing existing ones, or collaborating with team members to troubleshoot issues. You may also work on data visualization using Tableau and/or Superset, creating insightful dashboards and reports to help drive data-driven decisions. Additionally, you will take on a mentoring role, guiding others in data visualization best practices and sharing your expertise. Throughout the day, you may attend meetings with stakeholders to discuss project progress, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Your Expertise:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize business intelligence solutions, including data models, dashboards, and reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure data solutions meet business needs.
• Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data validation and monitoring processes.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members and stakeholders.
• Continuously improve data processes and tools to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• 9+ years of industry experience with a BS/Masters degree or 6+ years with a PhD.
• Strong skills in SQL, data modeling, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
• Experience with ETL processes and tools (e.g., Airflow).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language for data analysis (e.g., Python, R).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
