Reporting to the Commercial Chief of Staff, the Senior Staff/ Staff, Business Operations serves within the 'Office of the CCO' as a strategy, operations and portfolio generalist. The successful candidate will be able to work across different regions and teams, interacting with Commercial regional functions, Commercial and Illumina Strategy & Planning, Marketing, Finance, and Operations teams. The Staff/ Staff, Business Operations will be resourceful and someone who thrives in a fast moving, often complex environment.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Commercial Chief of Staff, anticipating future needs and areas of focus internally and externally
- Translate needs into operational activities, including tracking, reporting and ensuring delivery on commitments
- Supports the Chief of Staff in the development of materials for customer meetings, strategic planning, budgeting, eQBR and BOD meetings
- Enable business efficacy through metrics design and dashboards and leveraging support from related organizations. Define and prioritize new initiatives and opportunities, recommend next steps and ensure follow up as needed.
- Work with leaders and SMEs within Commercial and other corporate functions to accelerate, implement and optimize operational processes
- Validate, develop, track and report operational metrics. Support the 'Office of the CCO' to orchestrate regular cadence, coordinate, prepare and/or drive Commercial deliverables for strategic planning, budgeting, quarterly Business Reviews, operational planning and reviews
- Develop high quality work products and deliverables to support the operational effectiveness of the CCO and the wider Commercial leadership team
- Able to develop effective world class presentations to be given to scientific, investor and public audiences
- Support the 'Office of the CCO' to drive communications on behalf of the Commercial leadership team around operational plans, key initiatives and important activities
- Help scope and develop program plans to support the delivery of the CCO's Commercial Strategy
- Track the performance and execution of key strategic initiatives and CCO Commercial programs
- Maintain absolute discretion of company confidential information and serve as an ambassador for the CCO and the office of the CCO by supporting positive relationships within the organization at all times.

Preferred Requirements:
- Experience managing complex projects and programs
- Able to use tools such as Sales Force and Tableau
- Proficient in the use of MS Office suite of products, especially MS PowerPoint
- Ability to deliver under time-pressure, strong strategic thinking, analytical, and business judgment skills
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results through complex cross-functional teams
- Strong team player with the credibility and influence to collaborate with all levels of the organization.
- Strong facilitation skills and ability to convey complex ideas concisely; Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Preferred Experience/Education:
- Life Sciences Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree or equivalent in Business Administration preferred
- Experience working in Genomics is preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years broad-based experience in either biotech, medical devices or life sciences industry
