Staff Client Platform Engineer

A Typical Day: 

• On a typical day on the Client Engineering team you will be managing our macOS, Chrome OS, Windows, iOS and Android endpoint fleet by using modern stateful orchestration with Puppet, Munki and MDM tooling
• You will,
• Be working with Golang, Python,Swift and DevOps tools such as Terraform and Puppet to build out our existing tooling or develop new ways of solving hard problems
• Be at the forefront of designing and implementing our Zero Trust platform alongside our Security Engineering teams
• Be closely engaged with our Security Engineering teams for rapidly identifying and remediating critical security flaws in the endpoints and their management
• Have the opportunity to contribute back to open source projects such as Crypt, MicroMDM, osquery, MDMDirector, Sal, Munki, Puppet, and Autopkg
• Participate in a paid on call rotation

Your Expertise:

• Know one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Swift, Ruby, Python, Go.
• Experience of managing macOS at scale
• Bonus points if it’s with open source tools (e.g Munki or Puppet / Chef)
• Have a security first mindset, with knowledge of security principles such as Zero Trust
• Passion for endpoint management using DevOps methodologies.
• You may have experience of:
• Managing Windows using open source tools (e.g Gorilla / Chocolatey or Puppet / Chef)
• Using Google’s API to manage Chrome OS
• Open source MDM, such as MicroMDM or NanoMDM
• Deploying infrastructure in cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform
• Working knowledge of the Apple MDM protocol
• Possesses strong mentoring skills and is interested in sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues 
• Enjoys collaborating with teammates

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
