Job Description
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop high-performance lithium metal battery electrodes.
- Conduct research and development to improve battery performance, including energy density, power output, and cycling life.
- Design experiments to evaluate new materials and test their suitability for use in novel electrode designs.
- Analyze and interpret data to draw conclusions and make recommendations for future work.
- Develop and maintain electrode fabrication processes to ensure consistent quality and performance.
- Lead testing and validation efforts to ensure product reliability and safety, including compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with supplier partners to source and evaluate materials, and maintain relationships with key vendors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electrode design for lithium-ion or other battery technologies.
- Proficiency in electrochemical testing techniques and analysis, including cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, and capacity fade testing.
- Strong understanding of battery materials and chemistry, including knowledge of lithium metal batteries and their properties.
- Familiarity with electrode manufacturing processes and techniques, including coating, drying, and calendaring.
- Experience with data analysis and interpretation, using software such as MATLAB or Python.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Benefits
The San Francisco / Bay Area cash compensation (base + bonus) range for this full-time position is $161,000 - $192,000 + equity + benefits.
