About this position

As a Plexus Enterprise Solutions team member, the Staff Engineer is responsible for coordinating an appropriately balanced pursuit of enterprise information systems. This includes security, data, software, and solution design viewpoints working with stakeholders such as external vendors, department leadership, digital product owners, and agile development teams. In addition, you will help select strategic technologies and publish standards for integration and interoperability with and within Plexus' greater IT systems. You will also understand, assess, and present risk reporting to senior management.

What you'll do

  • You lead the creation or evolution of the Enterprise Solutions function, including coordinating an appropriately balanced pursuit of enterprise information systems, data, technical and solution engineering viewpoints stakeholders, product owners, and agile development teams.
  • You understand, advocate for, and support Enterprise's business and IT strategies.
  • You lead the identification and analysis of enterprise business drivers to derive enterprise business, information, technical and solution requirements, analyzing industry, technology, and market trends to determine their potential impact on the Enterprise.
  • You analyze the current business and IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • You lead and facilitate the creation of governing principles to guide solution decision-making for the Enterprise.
  • You lead the development of an implementation plan for ES based on business requirements and IT strategies, overseeing ES implementation, ongoing ES refinement activities, and the documentation of all ES design and analysis work.
  • You consult with program/project teams to fit solutions to systems across all viewpoints.
  • You define organizational requirements for the resources, structures, and cultural changes necessary to support the ES.
  • You promote the ES process, outcomes, and results to the organization, including the Enterprise's IT and business leaders; this includes assessing (through appropriate metrics) and communicating the achievement and impact of the ES, as well as leading the development and execution of an ES communication and education plan.
  • You create, manage, maintain, and disseminate documentation for processes to propose new solutions, patterns, and best practices in a public venue.
  • You proactively seek opportunities to educate and drive the adoption of best practices and identify and assist in developing plans to migrate the current state into the future using standard industry patterns.
  • You will partner with Software Development Managers, Software Product Owners, and Solution Engineers to understand the vision and direction for products and guide the engineering department to consider how to integrate into the larger enterprise technology systems.
  • You provide feedback and suggestions to the Development Operations (DevOps)/Edge Engineering teams to continuously improve CI/CD capabilities.

You should have

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or Software Engineering.
  • You have seven years of experience in enterprise development.
  • You have five years of experience with server-side languages such as C#, Java, and Node.
  • You have four years of Relational and NoSQL database experience or a combination of 2 years of experience with Node.js and two years in a modern frontend framework such as Angular or React.
  • You have Excellent knowledge of Architectural Patterns, SOLID, and object-oriented design principles.
  • You have excellent knowledge of distributed systems architecture (Microservices, SOA).
  • You Understand software Quality Assurance principles.
  • You have extensive knowledge of Agile development methodologies such as Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban.
  • You have high quality organizational and leadership skills. Outstanding communication and presentation abilities. Technical problem-solving abilities.
