About the team
Stripe’s Local Payment Methods team (LPM Engineering) is dedicated to optimizing payment experiences globally. As we are expanding our portfolio of local payment methods we are also ensuring seamless transactions tailored to regional preferences. LPM Engineering is the first team under Stripe’s Payments umbrella to establish a presence in the new Bucharest, Romania site, part of a phased expansion of the entire group’s presence here. What you’ll do
Responsibilities
- Identify and guide solutions for problems that span multiple teams
- Set an example of the standard of your team's work and push others towards greater achievement
- Work with our partners to launch new markets, payment methods, and capabilities
- Align our technical decisions with Stripe’s broad strategic initiatives, while also advocating for needs specific to emerging new businesses
- You communicate themes/vision effectively across broad populations
- You navigate and take responsibility for complex team and cross-functional projects
- Collaborate across the company to leverage existing infrastructure as well as build bespoke solutions where needed to solve problems end-to-end
Minimum requirements
- Demonstrated experience in technical leadership/software architecture roles
- Demonstrated experience in owning complex work spanning multiple function areas
- Empathy, strong communication skills and a deep respect for the power of collaboration
- A humble learning mindset, regardless of level or experience
- Software engineering experience in a high-stakes production environment
- Proficient in writing high quality code in a major programming language and a constructive attitude to help others raise the bar
