Job description

Analog Devices is seeking a Staff Mixed Signal IC Design Engineer to join the Consumer Audio Solutions Business Unit to participate in analysis, research, design, simulation, characterization, and release-to-production of high-performance, low power, integrated circuits.

As a member of the Audio design team, you will be designing the next generation of high-performance audio solutions defining the way devices are operated, the way music is enjoyed, and the way people connect to each other. The ubiquity of connected devices and voice activated devices as well as the form factor reduction in audio peripherals such as wireless earbuds, is pushing the boundaries of existing solutions, and is calling for novel approaches.

The successful candidate will join a team with a track record of producing breakthrough innovative architectures for Class-D amplifiers and delta-sigma DAC's and ADC's, to name a few. The successful candidate must have a strong, intuitive capability in solving complex challenges. The candidate will be self-motivated and be able to work effectively within a team.

Job Location: Wilmington, MA or Austin, TX

Responsibilities• Architecture investigation, design and verification of analog and mixed-signal blocks• Collaboration with digital design and design verification teams for block and system integration and verification at chip level• Interface with product definition, product, applications, and test, engineering to successfully bring new products from initial concept through production release• Evaluate and troubleshoot complex integrated circuit problems in the laboratory

Education and Experience Requirements:• M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of experience in CMOS IC design• Understanding of a wide range of circuits such as high-gain amplifiers, switched-capacitor circuits, comparators, integrators, precision voltage references, LDOs• Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional team

Preferred Qualifications• Experience in ADC/DAC design• Experience in audio IC design with a passion for audio• Experience in Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation tools• Experience in delta-sigma modulator design• Experience with MATLAB or other modeling tools, and specifically their application to delta-sigma modulator design• Understanding of digital signal processing concepts
