Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. is a world leader in Memory, System LSI and LCD technologies. As a member of Samsung’s Memory Solutions Lab (MSL), you will be part of an Advanced Research and Development team developing the next generation of enterprise memory and storage technologies. The team innovates, solves key technical problems in areas and products related to Samsung’s NAND flash, DRAM and other memory technologies, and tackles a variety of challenging issues in data center, server, and software infrastructure.

You will join a team of experts in researching and developing innovative solutions that utilize existing and emerging technologies to add substantial value to Samsung. The team covers a broad spectrum of topics and is building an ecosystem surrounding efficient utilization of next-generation Samsung SSDs, NVRAM and memory. You will be working with the-state-of-art technologies in the context of vertical integration and optimization across H/W and S/W. The candidate must be able to thrive in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment and lead independent research in the focus area.

Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose, CA headquarters 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time the remainder of your time

• Conduct key research and development activities to extend the state-of-the-art systems research, to aid the design and development of emerging systems via performance modeling and/or simulation.
• Create key IPs, implement prototypes, write or publish papers, and do standardization.
• Work with other hardware/software architects working on future products, and contribute to feasibility studies.

What You Bring

• • PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related fields and 5+ years or Masters and 8+ years of industry experience preferred. (More experienced candidates will also be considered at relevant levels). 
  • Deep knowledge and expertise in systems design & architecture, SOC modeling and/or simulation platforms.
  • Prior experience in developing detailed models for silicon architecture, algorithm evaluation and performance analysis, capable of accurately projecting performance.
  • Modeling SoC architecture based on architecture specification and have the potential to integrate the performance model into comprehensive system simulator like QEMU and Gem5
  • Must be highly motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven hardware modeling expertise and associated performance analysis experience.
  • Experience developing cycle-accurate, bit-accurate and transaction-accurate models.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ is a must-have skill
  • SystemC experience is a plus.
